Acrylic on canvas, signed lower right with horn insignia; 19 1/2“ x 15 1/2“, framed to 24“ x 15“. Rocky Joe Heckman was well known throughout the cowboy country of central Montana, where he was an outfitter, guide, taxidermist, builder and artist. He loved the rodeo and he loved the mountains. When he lost his battle with brain cancer in 2017, his funeral was held at the rodeo arena in Augusta, with friends and beloved clients from his outfitting business, Montana Safaris, flying in from around the country.
